Imelda Martinez
Outpatient Clinician
My name is Imelda Martinez, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, but I have lived in New Mexico for over 40 years. I earned my master's in social work from New Mexico Highlands University with a bilingual and bicultural studies concentration.
As a first-generation immigrant, I am dedicated to supporting and advocating for immigrant individuals and families, understanding their challenges in navigating complex societal systems. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, children, and families.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in trauma-informed care. I highly value diversity in therapeutic methods and draw from a broad spectrum of theoretical approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Structural Therapy, Systems Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, and Strength-based Therapy, among others. As a therapist, I aim to offer you a secure environment where you can heal and develop, considering the significance of your culture, beliefs, and values in each session.
