Hello! I am Alejandra

DulceSalado - Co-Founder
Adoption and Parenting Therapist

I'm an independently licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), parenting educator, mental health advocate, and mother. I'm originally from Medellin, Colombia, but currently reside in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have always enjoyed working with adolescents and parents to strengthen and repair relationships. My therapeutic approach focuses on family systems and trauma-informed practice. For over a decade, I have worked as a multisystemic and adoption-competent therapist, primarily with families involved in the foster care or juvenile justice system. While working in the community, I have observed various types of family dynamics. Some families even faced the possibility of losing their children due to their perceived inability to manage their child's behavior. Witnessing children being removed from their homes and placed in the system made me question whether we were addressing the problem correctly. That's why I decided to dedicate my career and practice to helping parents succeed. With DulceSalado, I can now assist caregivers worldwide, empowering them to feel confident in their parenting journey and giving their teenagers a voice. I will help you trust your own intuition, despite the opinions of others.

Hello! I am Patty

Outpatient Clinician

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing for more than nine years in this field. I was born in northern New Jersey, raised there, and later moved to Miami, Florida. Now, being a resident of New Mexico for thirteen years, I feel like I have a place I can call home. I am the daughter of immigrants from Ecuador and Uruguay and am bilingual in Spanish and English. Given my personal, work-related, and cultural experiences, I understand the benefits and challenges that occur in families with similar circumstances when it comes to balancing the multicultural experience. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients focus on what matters to them, to learn how to recognize their strength and power, and to help them on their journey to finding solutions to their challenges. I have experience working with adolescents in a school-based health center. Throughout my career, I have worked with people experiencing depression, anxiety, with trauma histories, sense of self issues, relationship problems, substance abuse, needing parenting support, navigating life transitions, and many other quality of life concerns. The therapeutic frameworks I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) , narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Hello! I am Sofia

Outpatient Clinician

I am Sofia Chavarri. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was trained in Clinical Psychology and then, once I obtained my license, I became experienced in Criminal Justice, Neuropsychology and Psychopharmacology. All my studies were performed in my native language that is Spanish, but I became fluent in English throughout my education and family, since my mother and sister are both originally from USA. My therapeutic approach is strongly based on my personal experience and characteristics. I really enjoy working with pre-teens and teens, providing guidance, active listening and tools that can help them feel safe, seen and heard, and that will naturally make a difference in the family dynamic, helping both sides, the client and the family since they could be all struggling due to the same issue in essence. I have my clinical experience oriented towards anxiety disorder, depression, suicidal ideation and eating disorders. I use different techniques, mostly based on ACT, DBT, Mindfulness, amongst others and my general clinical orientation is based on Cognitive Psychology.

Hello! I am Jennifer

Outpatient Clinician

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I grew up on the Gulf Coast of Corpus Christi, Texas. I moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, living in a completely *new* environment compared to South Texas, for over 8 years. I relocated to New Mexico in January 2015; another completely different environment. I have counseled a variety of populations. In the latter years of my career, I have mainly focused on children, adolescents, and families. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), therapeutic modules, behavioral modification, and art and play as part of the therapy sessions. I have over 23 years of experience with diagnoses of ADHD, depression, bipolar, anxiety, trauma (sexual, physical, emotional), substance abuse, general behavioral issues, and numerous others. Fun fact: I had a client’s mother declare that I was the “child whisper.” I understand a life with PTSD. I served at Naval Station Ingleside with Naval and Marine service members (officers and enlisted) at base and on ship as crew counselor in the FFSC and on deck during deployment. As a result, I, too, have a diagnose of PTSD. There are some traumas that only those who have lived through can understand. I am experienced in providing therapy for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the mid and high level of functioning. My understanding of Autism is both professional and personal. As my schooling years were during the 1970’s and 1980’s, ASD was unknown. I discovered my Autism later in life. As I work with my Autistic clients, I remember similar situations and can understand firsthand some of the feelings and reactions that my clients may have felt. Common experiences can lead to a better partnership between the client and family. I want to make your therapeutic experience as productive and comfortable as possible. My goal is your goal. This is a partnership between *us.* I will guide but never demand, encourage but never dissuade progress, provide suggestions but never condemnation.

Hello! I am Jeanine

Outpatient Clinician

I am a Licensed Masters of Social Worker with a concentration in Bilingual/Bicultural practice. As the eldest daughter of immigrant parents, I understand the complexities of balancing two cultures in our society. I recognize the barriers and obstacles that families of immigrant's encounter, as I have faced them myself. I am from Ecuadorian and Colombian roots and speak both English and Spanish. I obtained my Baccalaureate degree at the University of New Mexico with a double major in Psychology and Latin American Studies. During my time in undergrad, I obtained a clearer understanding of the historic, cyclical generational trauma that immigrants experience. This understanding provided context to my own upbringing. My education continued at New Mexico Highlands University towards my MSW where I was able to expand my knowledge with the incorporation of clinical practice. I have experience working with first generation students, young adult, adults, children, and families. Moving forward, I strive to continue to advocate, educate, and support those in this community who are struggling to find themselves.
